i am having some issues with my install, the car runs well at idle and will rev freely but when boost comes on it bogs down, i think i may have ended up with the maf from a 300zx, i just got an safc 2 i was wondering if anyone has had this same issue and if so what settings did you use on your afc to fix the problem, any help would be greatly apperciated. thank -J

got a wideband to tune it? you could be dumping in fuel.

and if nothings done to the engine and you dont need that to run, unplug it and plug the maf back to stock, see if that fixes it.

You didnt get the SAFC so you could vent your OEM bypass valve did you? If so, recirc it. THe oem valve doesnt seal very well under boost and the loss of metered air can make your car go rich for sure.

Basically, we are attemting to get the car running well enough to get it over to the shop that has the wideband.

What we are looking for is the correction numbers for a stock RB25 with a z32 MAF. We just need to get near what the ECU needs to see. Enough to get on the highway safely.

Thanks Jim

I had this SAME problem with it bogging in boost. My problem was I had a Walbro 255 in back and the stock regulator and after I replaced the regualtor with the Nismo one it helped out tremendously. So if you havent done that you might want to try that.

My thought aswell was the possibility of a fuel problem but we have the KA24DE pump in there untill we get the car to the shop and its STILL a dog. The car has enough power to go up slight hills but it certainly cant accelerate. I suppose the pump could have taken a dump while the car was sitting but thats not really probable. Im fairly sure we have the wrong MAF.

If someone could just tell me what direction the correction needs to be that would be a start.

Well the pump could be your problem still because the KA one will NOT flow enough fuel for the RB, as far as I know you have to upgrade to a Walbro 255, R33, or supra fuel pump. I am not ruling out the MAF but this could be it also.

your stock pump should be ok for stock rb.

but trying to figure if it is the maf. so plug the maf back to stock and see if the same problems occur. (disconnecting the safc and plugging the maf plugs back together)

or look up the safc2 settings for the z32 maf (cant remember) and put that in to see if it helps.

Thats what I have been asking for! Since I dont have the stock MAF and nobody sells it, I cant really plug it back in can I?

Im just guessing at +20% fuel using the MAF from the ZX but I would rather not melt a piston on the way to the shop.

im thinking u want this thing running so u can go play around. if your going directly to the shop, then dont go boosting and go.

take a pic of your maf or describe the sticker on it. how many wires coming from it and so on. can figure if it is a z32 maf. and what do you have modified to your engine that requires you adding 20% fuel??

if you did have the z32 maf installed and the settings right, and you have a stock engine, youd be at 0% (stock)
