RB25 s13 tach help

Hey everyone. Ive been reading to get a correctly calibrated tach you can swap in one from a maxima. So today me and my friend went to the junkyard and pulled the tach out of a 95-99 maxima. Got home and pulled the stock tach out of his cluster, but now were a little confused.

The maxima tach isnt a direct drop on(I knew it wasnt going to be) but none of the contact/mounting points on the s13 cluster match the maxima tach. I read on a different forum that someone just swapped the gauge face, but that doesnt make sense because your still using the tach board/motor for the s13 that isnt 6cyl calibrated.

For the maxima tach swap you use the whole tach assembly, right? If so then how do you connect the tach connections to the cluster connections? Ive tried searching on numerous websites and cant seem to find a definite answer.

Sorry that i can't help on the Maxima tach but why not go back to the JY and get a J30 tach. It will bolt right up.

We looked around but didnt see and j30's there. And I think the maxima tach faceplate matches the stock cluster the best.
