I have the above mention swapped car. I Had someone do the harness that was reputable in Tampa florida. The car drove fine but never felt strong. After It almost over heated once. Now, at about 5k, full throttle, it cuts out very bad. Meaning, that the engine sounds as if its revving out, but it has a hard time, and you lose momentum. The boost is fine, and not cutting out, the clutch is not slipping, there are no boost leaks. Engine only has 47k kilometers. Type two engine also. I just put a intake and 90 mm throttle body on it, and it still acts the same. If not worse. So would that just be a tune, or is that something that I might just need to re do harness de-loomed, and give it a once over. I appreciate any input on the matter.

Also, I used the r33 gauges, and all of a sudden after I did the manifold, and TB that when I brake or turn my lights or turn signals on, it makes my oil pressure, water temp go up about a 1/4 of an inch in the gauge cluster. And turns my radio off. And now my tacho meter is bouncy.

I am not sure if the two are related. This problem did arise after I put on the intake and q45 thottle body. The second problem with the gauges, is a body harness issue maybe? But why would it happen at that same time?

I recently installed a Apexi Neo. Since I know that I need to correct for the massive TB, And now I have noticed that when I use the neo to monitor. It actually shows my rpm's go to....145k yup, bet your car doesn't do that. Or it shows 0. Sometimes it actually works correctly. just not under load.

So I am at a loss. The neo actually turns on when I have the key in accesory and turn the lights on. Turn the lights off it shuts off.

I would appreciate any help.

sounds like you botched some of the cluster wiring, and the neo wiring.

the r33 cluster has more grounds than the 240 ones, make sure they are all grounded well!

The Gauge cluster was working fine, then i switched to an intake manifold. To do that, u have to extend the temp sensor and another sensor and a ground. On the engine harness... Then after that I am having problems.

So, I would love to say that you are right, but I had the gauges running for almost six months in the car, fine and dandy. So I am at a lose. When i turn my head lights on it actually makes the gauges go up, and at night I barely have any bulb at all. I am going to switch the battery to a new one, and pull the engine harness and deloom and check everything again, just to be sure, and I will pull out the gauges, for the fourth time and see if everything is still intact and such.

Plus i picked up another s13 trunk, so that I can get the body harness out of it, its a shame its a clean trunk.

As for the neo wiring, I soldered everything, and it only five wires, I know i did it right, the neo functions some times, but when my gauges start to freak out then the neo does too. It has to be a ground. for the car, or body harness, or engine harness, but I actually hooked all the engine bay grounds straight to the negative on the battery to no avail.

Amazingly enough for all you people out that may or may not know this. There is a tiny ground that grounds your engine to your fire wall.

I would have never thought it would affect acceleration, or reving. But it affected them all. And gauges, and lights, and radio, and rpms. But not mechanical engine problems.

But it did.

Took all of four seconds. And a hot lap around the block. All fixed. =)
