Last I checked, heavy throttle does not give out wiring info. They offer the wiring service for their swaps, just like us. Are you sure they do because you feel they are a reputable company, or because you have actually checked on it?
As far as the JWT comparison goes, we give out the same amount of info that they do, in my opinion. What I gave was a direct comparison, what you gave isn't. Wiring info with an engine purchase...we haven't added in our R&D costs into the price of an engine.
Now, if you want to compare buying a JWT ECU and the help they give you installing it to what we do...then we do the same. If someone buys our wiring service, we do everything necessary to explain to them how to install it. That is a direct comparison, in my opinion.
Your evaluation of what we do...it is like if I bought a set of cam gears from JWT and then expected them to explain to me how to socket and chip my ECU, and give me wiring diagrams, sell me the daughterboard at cost, and email me a program to burn. That is a direct comparison.
But really, the fact of the matter is, if you think you can get a better overall deal on an engine/wiring info from somebody else, go ahead and do it. We don't expect everybody to buy an engine from us...and we don't sell very many engines that aren't for in-house installs. And if you think you can get a better overall deal (quality, cost, etc.) by buying an install kit from us (which is what this topic is actually about, right), then do that.
I'm not sure what my AIM conversations have to do with anything...since we have always stated publicly that we won't give out the wiring info. It isn't like we told people that they would get wiring info if they bought the motor...and then when the motor showed up, we said we wouldn't.
If you think we are evil for not giving out every single bit of our R&D, then you should open your eyes and look at what is standard in the automotive world and in other research industries. If you want to talk about taking care of our customers, wiring info isn't taking care of your customers. Going to Florida to change a water pump is taking care of your customers. Going across town to fix a customer's suspension, that is taking care of your customers. Fixing a customer's car that got broken into outside of the shop, replacing the door and window, and getting it repainted (all at our cost), that is taking care of your customers. Telling your customers where they can find something cheaper than getting it through you...that is helping your customers. Those are the sorts of things that we think count, and that is why we do them.
And that really is all I have to say on the subject, so don't expect further replies.
