Helping a friend with his car, s13 with rb25 S1, with Rb20 ignitor. ignitor input plug has been rewired to match RB25 ecu, continuity tested all the way back to ECU.

ECU is sending signal pulses into the ignitor when tested at the input side, but nothing comes out the other side of the ignitor.
we've tried a couple different known good ignitors.

coils have ground on the E pin, and 12v on the + pin.
fuel pump is running, CAS is good, injectors fire... any input?

rb20 ignitors have their inputs and outputs flipped compared to the 25, its probably feeding the ecu output to the ignitor output.

Meaning I need to swap the 6 and 7 pin plugs from one side to the other?

correct, and even then gotta make sure that the ground is in the right spot.
why not get the proper ignitor?
