RB25 Running on RB20 ECU?

Ive read a bit about running a RB25 on a RB20 ecu. Any one have any comments on this? The reason I'm asking is I have a RB25, and want to do some upgrades but that will require retuning. I'm not looking to go out and spend $1000 on a tuning system when I know I can do it my self for much cheaper. I was thinking of going with the MegaSquirt but heard about this RB25 on a RB20 ecu talk. I know the 20 has a tuneable ecu, what sucks about the 25 is you cant tune the nissan ecu, you pretty much have to go standalone which is costly. So would it be possible to repin a RB20 Ecu to plug into my RB25 harness and then tune the Ecu to run my RB25? Anyone do it here? Let me know. Sorry im not a baller and buy $1000 tuning systems as I'm paying for my degree in engineering and building this car at the same time. So thats not an option.

BTW I finally got a new front end after the hood blew off, just need to get it painted, got it for $120 on craigs list
