Car: No car yet but definitely gonna be a Nissan. Thinking S14 RB swap

Post

I'm going to get a S14 and swap a rb motor. I was wondering how much horsepower can you get without upgrading the turbo or at least not increasing the boost pressure on a fully built engine. That means head, cam, stroker crank and forged Pistons, really The works. Just no increasing boost pressure or no upgraded turbo. Thank you guys for being such a great forum and wealth of knowledge. Thank you for all the info in advance.

Why would you spend thousands to achieve 300whp (about the most that turbo is good for) when you can just turn the boost up a few pounds and do simple bolt ons for next nothing?

I have a $10,000 budget for just the motor and I want to get the strongest 400hp motor I can get for that. I plan to road race this car but right now I'm worried about the motor. Everything else is later. I know I can have it built by a shop for less than half that in Florida. So that's what I want to spend for now. Money is not my issue, knowledge is. I could buy a tomei genesis for $30 but I think that's a waste. Thanks for the reply

I'm gonna be racing this car for about 5/6 hours at a time and I'm not gonna use this as a daily driver.

When you're the most respected RB engine parts supplier, engine builder and tuner in the country, you tend to be busy with a lot of customers. Shoot him an email or try him again tomorrow.. it'll be worth it. I've known Ricky here on the forums for like 10 years and you won't anyone more helpful.
