Good Morning/Afternoon Ladies and Gents! Quick introduction. My name is SGT Jason Shevlin, with the US Army currently serving in Iraq (Again) have been lucky enough to drive a high HP 300ZX TT for a few years now. Closing in on 500RWHP fast (Last tim I dyoned was in 06 and ht 464 o pump fuel) But I picked up another project now. A 97 S14 Kouki with the anemic KA24DE. Got to go. I plan on doing an RB25 Swap when I return to the States. Herein lies the questions:

I have an OS Giken Twin Disc clutch hanging around that I was going to use in the Z. I know sometimes things fit different cars, even though they arent widely spread knowledge wise. SO, Z32 flywheel/Clutch assy in an RB25?? Yes, Maybe, but hard, or no?

I see alot of debate about RB25 vs 26 on here. Is the 25 truly inferior to the 26 in terms of HP Handling? I really plan on pushing the envelope with this car and was hoping for 700RWHP. (I know, expensive, bt oh well) Should I just spring for the 26? I have read about fitment issues with the 26. Thanks guys. I hope these dont seem to "noobish"

Oh, and all the "how to swap" guides are for an S13. Is there truly a difference or is that a good guide to follow?? Thanks!

No the Z32 TT clutch will not fit on the RB25. The NA does.

If you are serious about hitting the 700hp mark, the RB25 will cost you about $20k. The RB26 will be significantly less due to a better valve train, better bottom end, no crank snout issue, and several other reasons. 700hp would probably be close to the upper limits of the stock 26 pistons if not past them. You are looking at a full rebuild for that kind of power though.

the 26 has the same crank collar issues the 25 does. they were just rectified earlier. so its a 32/early 33 problem.

honestly, if your going for 700, get a 26. but i would build it.

Oh yeah you're right. It has been drilled into my head so many times from the NEO owners still seeing the short oil drives that it all started to blend together.

Rebuild was a planned event anyhow. Ive got a top notch head porter and same for the block. Suppose I could sell the clutch and buy a set of pistons, lol. Thanks guys!
