I need help finishing my S1 Rb25det swap into my 91' s13. My biggest issue is identifying some plugs that came with my harness, but were not attached to it. I have reconnected or have sourced where they belong on the harness through tracing wires. All of the guides I have been following are not specific enough or I just simply do not have the wires involved with the specific loom. Here are the plugs that I am unsure of and what I think they are.

Image
To me this resembles the transmission interface plug. If this is indeed that plug I do not have the Blue/White wire. There is another plug that runs off of this loom which I can only assume is the power steering plug that will be deleted.

Image
I'm almost positive that this plug that I am holding is the dash interface plug. Accoring to the write up this is where I will be tapping in for the tachometer, speedometer,Temperature sensor,Start signal and so on. What would be the white plug above the one I am holding? Would this be a mini f3 plug ? After some research I think its useless maybe?

Image
Image
Wiper motor connector? If this is true is it useless?

Image
Wiper motor amplifier? If so then according to the write up it is worthless as well?

This would be everything that I am uncertain about. I've been following these two guides and both of them are with out pictures which do not help. I have a series 1 rb25 and yes this is the matching harness to the engine. Here are the links to the guides I have been following if you care to see.http://www.nicoclub.com/archives/rb25de ... guide.html

Thanks for your time and efforts in advance I haven't had much time to work on it but I will be all over it tonight so lmk what you guys come up with thanks again

The first plug is the plug that has some of the R33 body wiring on it like A/C and ABS. If you have an S1, you need to cut the grey wire (AF81) out of it and connect it to switched 12V power.

The second plug is the M63/F3 plug where you will be splicing or repinning to match to the S14 dash harness.

The third plug with no wires, I have no idea.

The fourth plug is the wiper motor plug. It is different than the S14 chassis so you need to do some rewiring with those wires to get the S14 motor to work and retain the wiper functions. This is outlined on the writeup for an RB25 into an S14 file.

The fifth plug is the wiper amp and plug. You will need this if you want your wipers to work. I accidentally threw mine out so I had to rewire the S14 wiper amp. Just look at the RB25 wiring diagram and wire up everything accordingly.

Your links don't work. Try reposting those.

Thanks Darius for some of the info. This would be going into my s13 silvia coupe though so would I be safe to ditch the wiper motor and plug?

I've read the write ups so many times to catch up on some loose ends and have done a lot of searching. I just can't find any write up thats specific enough. Everyone seems to always link the more specific topics to racebread, and rbforums which both sites are down. The 8 step program is not specific enough so I've been taking foot notes and will be using the r33's fsm along with the s13's fsm in hopes of hearing a screaming rb25 tonight :)

I'm sure there are more things that I am forgetting with my harness, but I will have to see to it later considering the car is not at my house. Any further help would be great even if its just an "I think statement" just to get me moving.

PM me your e-mail address and I'll send you the writeups. Hopefully eh? can chime in and forward the S13-specific wiring writeups to you. I wish NICO would host all of the RB install writeups but that forum feature went away a long time ago.

I think you should take the extra time to wire in the wipers. You never know when you will get stuck in the rain or have the windshield fog up. Plus, it isn't that difficult to figure out just by looking at the wiring diagram for the RB25 and the S13 wiper circuit.

Awesome that would be amazing! Yeah the wipers will stay with the car I just didn't know if I were capable of retaining my original wiper equipment. Also I'm not capable of sending you a pm yet. I've been lurking all my life on here up until now so I'll just leave this hear haha [email protected]

So what does that brown box with the 7 wire plug do?

The brown box is basically a resistor box to control the intermittant wipers along with the other speeds.

Correct.

Why don't your intermittant wipers work? Bad switch or you don't have it wired up? Just curious.
