Hi guys, I'm rebuilding an RB25 with new Manley rods and Wiseco pistons. I just assembled the short block and the pistons protrude about .017" above the deck. Is this pretty typical for this engine? The MLS head gasket I have is about .050" thick, so I'll have about .030" clearance between the piston top and the head.

Thanks in advance.

Mine are above deck.. can't remember how much, however I'm using a .059 gasket.

Weisco specs these pistons with a positive deck clearance..

If I remember right, the squish height is supposed to be just about what you are anticipating.
