Hey guys

If you drive an rb25 could you post up which series it is (series 1 or 2) and the part number on your ecu (series of 10 digits number and letters on the label on the cover).

Thanks alot guys this can really help me get my buddys car running.

Nobody eh???

Problem here I guess is I thought the S2 RB25 did not have a diagnostic knob on the side of it...so I found the part number for my friends replacement ecu on my fast program but turns out they say it's for a 93-94.

Thing is that confuses me is the car started and ran for a short time, then would stall...i thought the s1 ecu wouldn't drive the coils on the s2 motor??It is indeed an s2 motor as well it has no ignitor,3 pin mafs, and 2 plug tps sensor.

Mine had no diagnostic knob on the side.

google the part number you have and an application usually pops up

Really ricky...hmmmm was there any mods or just plug and play....the part number on the ecu he recieved with the swap was 23710-83T62....the replacement was 23710-21U01.

The car idled like a champ at first then died...wouldn't start up again and then after letting it sit it started again...same thing.

Checked everything incl. Injector spray pattern etc. The original had a fried #5 coil drive.

I am lost if the ecu should work.

you know how to pull codes on the LEDless ECU? It's a little more time consuming than the ECU with the knob on it, but works flawlessly with the check engine light

Yeah I know how to jumper the wires and check codes......but thats not the issue here I already back traced the whole wiring system and found number 5 coil driver fried..very obvious on the circuit board.

But this ecu he got from my understandiong should not work.

If there was an award for the most off-the-wall, un-related, thread-hijacking, nonsensical post then you my friend, would definitely win it.

Are you new to internet forums all together or just this one? It is common courtesty to submit questions you have that are un-related to a posters original topic in your OWN topic. Go back to the main RB forum and click "new topic", in the title put the phrase "OMGZ COPZ GOING TO STEALZ MY 240SX w/ RB25, PLZ HELP". People will be more willing to help you.

Sorry to come off so harsh but your post really makes no sense in the first place. This is the United States of America, not North Korea.. Tho police are not going to just take your car. You do live in California so you will have strict emissions regulations.. like I said make a new topic about it OR USE THE SEARCH BUTTON.

Whoa...how accurate is this? That matches my ECU numbers with the exception of mine is 5712 at the end...

I'm double checking this due to just discovering I don't have the diagnostic screw on mine.

Damn. Lucky you. Mine is A3 5712 NO screw/bulb.

I'm not sure what to do now to pull codes. Time to research....bah

It's in the FSM and involves jumping some pins. No biggie.
