first of all dont use the rb25 pan on a rb26. The sumps are on different sides of the pans. In order to make the rb25 pan work you will need to cut the baffling out of the pan. Just use the rb26 oil pan and cut the diff off it. search we have dicussed this tons.

since your going to use the rb26 oil pan you have to take a section of it out on the front of the pan so you can use the factory 240sx sway bar or you can leave it alone like me and try to source an A31 cefiro rb20det front sway bar and it will bolt right up to the 240sx and clear the rb26 oil pan. heres a pic of what your oil pan should look like when done...heres my rb26 pan modifiedhere it is installed with mckinney mounts

not true. the sumps are on the same side of the pan (front). i think you mean baffling? both 26 and 25 pans need work to fit into the S chassis, so its really up to you what you want to use. there are pros and cons to both. i will name a few

25 pros: lighter, cheap to replace, basic tools - dremel/hammer/shears is all you really need to mod it.26 pros: free cuz it comes with your motor but hard to replace if you mess it up, arguably better baffling, more capacity, better cooling maybe cuz of the fins.25 cons: need to cut the pickup area, need to delete the under cradle baffling, lose a few bolts that support the transmission, more prone to leaks cuz of the nature of the mods you need to do and the pan is flimsier.26 cons: high G oil starve problem still not solved (in fact may be worse than 25 cuz it has the side slosh areas, but that is just speculation on my part. i never really see rb25's oil starve as much as 26's.. again debatable), bulkier/heavier, need real tools and welder to modify vs. 25 pan, can't use sway bar anymore

If you don't mind me asking, and going a bit OT, who's mounts are those? They look double the thickness of my Top Hat mounts. And it appears that the upper portion of the OEM Syline mount is used?

the mount you see there is the McKinney's mount. it uses the rb's stock upper mount.

He's running Mckinney mounts if i'm not mistaken.

As well. The RB26 pan has more capacity. And its not a pressed steel pan, cast aluminum so it makes the bottom more ridged = better all around.

But as noted above, there are some major cons to the pan.

Your choice. I went with the 26 pan

Guys: there's no comparison to the TopHat mounts I currently have. Wow. And I too am going with the 26 pan in my new build. Good info there with the Cefiro sway bar. Learned something today.

i think the mckinney is more rigid due to slightly thicker. tophat's are different,
