Oil filter for the KA24 will work. I use a K&N oil filter right off the shelf at AdvanceAuto, Part Number HP-2008. You could also choose from any other brand, as long as its the KA24 oil filter, itll work just fine for ya. I hope this helps!

Wix brand part number 51361 for a KA24. Nothing better out there, including overpriced crap like greddy, K&N, etc.

O yeah, and a FRAM is the worst piece of crap you could possibly put on your motor.

AGREED!!! I put a Fram on my old Turbo Honda and luckly i watch my oil press gauge all the time cuz my press went to zero and i stopped the engine right away... couldnt think of why so i pulled the filter to change the oil again and noticed the "clean" side didnt have any oil in it, cut the filter apart and noticed the filter element was folded up arounf the center causing it to restrict the oil! NEVER BUY FRAM! I guess i was not the only person it happened to! I use Mobil 1 Filters from a KA24

SEARCH FIRST!

I searched for "oil filter" and came up with these:

Joe, it is funny that you patiently mention the 2jz filter in almost every one of these threads.

i used to rock out the mann filters for a volvo 240 on my rb20...they might not clear the filter tree on a 25 due to the water/oil cooler but they are by far some of the best filters around.also using that particular filter will increase oil capacity by about .5 qt.

Bumping this as an FYI to not use this filter. There is no built in bypass valve on this one. Use HP-2009, it's bypass valve and anti drain back are the same as stock. You could also use the HP-3001 filter if you have enough space for it to fit (its huge).

i use the knn hp-3001 on my 26, i have a custom oil cooler set up, but this filter is huge! good choice it holds extra oil and allot larger filtering area, less restriction.

never use a FRAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just changed my oil. cost me $2.94 for the filter SUPER TECH. better than Fram. lets time i check this chart comparing both of them!

and Rotela T 5 40w oil. full syntetic.

filter + oil = $24

WALMART

its the same part # as the fram by the way!

I've been riding bikes for about 9 years. one of my bikes (04 R1) 90k miles on it . few track days and alot of work on that bike. never had 1 problem. other than my starter going out @ 70k haha! since my friend told me about this oil thats all i've been using on all my cars.. works great for me!

I know what you mean, this is on a SR oil block with the stock sr sized filter sitting on top. Too bad the 3001 covers part of the sending unit port for us SR guys.

This is the first I've heard of this...I'll have to check to see which one I used for my swap when I get home.

OIL FILTER BYPASS VALVE

If you wait too long to change the oil and oil filter, there is a danger that the oil filter might become plugged. To prevent a plugged oil filter from starving the engine for lubrication, oil filters have a built-in safety device called a "bypass valve." When the differential pressure across the oil filter element exceeds a predetermined value (which varies depending on the engine application), the bypass valve opens so oil can continue to flow to the engine. But when the bypass valve is open, no filtration occurs.

The bypass valve also opens when a cold engine is first started. Cold oil can be fairly thick and may not pass through the filter element very easily. So the bypass valve opens and allows the oil to go around the filter until the oil warms up and flows more easily. During this time, any contaminants that are in the crankcase may be sucked up through the oil pump and bypass the filter, causing increased engine wear and possibly engine damage. Once the oil gets warm and the bypass valve closes, oil flows through the filter and normal filtration resumes.

so if i keep 2008 the filter might get clogged and i will loose oil psi?if i get a 2009 then when i start the car till it warms up filter will be useless and i will damage the engine?
