no, just lock it in the software and unlock it when done...all of this is done under the triggers tab in the wari software.

Got it set and had to advance the offset trigger 12 degrees. Does it need to be completely retuned because at idle it is running very lean now. Could this have been limiting power?

Thanks

I would have it checked on a dyno to verify that the calibration is correct, if the timing was severely retarded then you wouldnt need as much fuel as you would with a motor with proper base timing.
This would explain why your ve map appears to be so flat where there should be a relatively large jump in ve as the motor comes on to boost and in boost.
That being said the tuner should have known better and checked base timing before even tuning it...I never take anyone's words that the base timing is correct.
I have had cars come in to be tuned that were tuned at other shops, shot base time and it be retarded almost 20*.

I finally was able to go back to the dyno this weekend. I didn't grab a dyno sheet because my diff started making a lot of noise on the last pull. Got it up to 360 whp before it messed up but I don't think there is much more we can get out of it at 20 psi with the hx35 at 7000 rpms. I guess that's about right. Someone else got their car tuned there and it was around 330 whp and they went to a dynojet and it was 390 whp. That would put my car above 400 whp on a dynojet so that may be all it has at this psi. The graph is pretty linear and doesn't have the dip at lower rpms anymore. When we were messing with the vct there was always a dip in power about 500 rpms after it activated regardless of the rpm setpoint but then it continued to climb and didn't go flat like it did before. He said he could smooth that out with tuning. It was a pretty small dip so I'm not too concerned about it.

As for the diff I'm not sure what happened. It's a Kaaz 2 way. Started knocking pretty loud on the dyno and we thought it might be the ring and pinion. Luckily someone at the shop had a friend with a spare open diff that I could have. After he took me to get it and we got back the noise was gone but we still switched out diffs. Didn't want to risk anymore tuning for the day because it was late and I don't know how happy my wife would have been driving an hour and a half to pick me up if it broke again. I pulled apart the diff and the ring and pinion are in good condition. Disassembled the Kaaz and the spider gears and clutches were in excellent condition. Bearings seemed to be in good condition also. The oil looked typical for used oil in a clutch lsd. I was running the Kaaz oil. I did notice on my way there that it was clunking a little more harshly than normal and it usually does that when the oil needs to be changed. It only had about 1000 miles on the oil but it was last changed 2 years ago so I'm pretty sure that is the problem.
