Ive been searchin long and hard for which Rb to swap into my 91 silvia. I REALLY would love the Rb26 but for the same amout of money i could put a rb25 neo in with some upgrades and be at the same HP level

what do you all suggest?

you dont need a NEO to make more power than a rb26.

i know i dont need a neo to make more power. but i like the top feed injectors and that its a newer motor. And that it makes 280 hp instead of 250 out of the box.

30 hp is peanuts in this situation

350 is relatively easy to do with a 25. you can do that with a run of the mill t3/t4. origionally, my power goals were the same, 350 at the wheels. but when i do order that turbo upgrade, im probably getting a GT35R and shooting for numbers between 450 and 500. i just noticed there are some fast cars around where i live. lol.

but i have a S1 RB25. just bolt-ons, and it doesnt even run yet.

if my goal is only bout 450 i should be alright with the rb25 then right? cuz im not sure its worth the extra hassle and money to get the rb26 in there and running

you should be fine with the 25. most people say that you can take a stock 25 block up to 500whp safely before the ringlands go. but recently, theres been a couple links popping up about people making 600 on a stock block. and they ringlands dont go until they use spray on top of that. im going to stay conservative and under 500. a good tune (via PFC in my case) should be reliable for quite a long time IMO.

My basic goal is a low 11 second car on radials. Im thinkin now that a 25 should do just fine at about 450 hp
