I'm wondering is this the only RB25 turbo that's non-ceramic? I had read some 25 turbo's were non ceramic, the RB20 v 25 v 26 sticky doesn't elaborate on the NEO unless its deep in the thread. Just was looking for a quick answer since I need to replace my 25 turbo on my rb20 I'm currently running (turbine is scraping the inside of the housing and squeals in high rpm's) I'd prefer to get a non ceramic turbo if I can get my hands on one.

Thx Tim

No. You heard incorrect information.

Alright guess its only the NEO's then. Luckily I found out the 25 Turbo I should be picking up from a friend is a NEO so I'm pretty stoked, is anything different about there design or is it a direct bolt on just like the normal 25 turbo?

The Neo IS an RB25 and the turbo still has a ceramic exhaust wheel. All the confusion started when somebody stated (correctly) that the older RB25 compressor wheels were metal and the newer RB25 (to include Neos) were nylon to help spool times. This is ONLY the compressor wheel. The exhaust wheel is still ceramic and exactly as easy to break as any other RB turbo. People turned that info around and somehow confused it with the exhaust wheel being metal, it got regurgitated as internet "fact" over and over again, and now we have this myth.

The only benefit to running the Neo turbo is it is a little newer and might be a little less worn out. A brand new series 1 turbo would hold up just the same and make the same power.
