Started to finish taking apart the rest of this Neo motor today. It came out of a slushbox Laurell, not an R34. Anyways, had a few surprises. Head was solid lifter'd as I thought, and I think it has the bigger RB26 sized rods (you tell me) but the crank.........

And here's some pics of a rod. Looks thicker than normal, right? Just want to make sure since I don't have one here to compare it too.

Mines!!

I'm pretty sure the rods are beefier, I just wanted somebody to tell me for sure they look bigger than stock RB25 non-neo rods. The thing I don't get is everybody always saws the neo has the "fixed" crank collar, but this one is normal, right? I've never actaully seen what one looks like, but it looks pretty short to me. I was really looking for confirmation on whether or not the crank had the "fix" or not. I think not

Sorry, your does not have the extended oil pump drive on it. If you look at the rb20 crank I have in the for sale thread you can see how much longer it is.

Yes those rods are bigger at the "shoulder" end. Per fast the nissan P/n is exactly the same as the RB26. If you send me the rods I can do a side by side photo. (j/k lol)That crank is about the 5th neo crank I've seen where the oil pump drive is narrow. It looks about the same as my R33 crank I have here.

contrary to popular belief the neo engines have the same short oil pump drive as the rest of the rb engines...unless they were just using up stock of the older rb25 cranks which is definately a possiblity.

I know I may get smacked in the face but what happens if you use the 26 rods with the stock 25 crank?? or the 26 whole bottom assembly like the crank, rods and pistons??
