Hey guys,

I am just looking for some opinions. I have an rb25 neo and I have about $2000 to spend on mods before I install it and I was just wondering what you guys thing I should upgrade first.

My goal is 400-500whp. I was looking at a nistune with maybe a z32 maf, upgraded fuel pump, nismo fpr, and ignition and a new turbo and manifold but my knowledge on which turbos are good and which ones are not is very limited.

Some people say get a gt-rs or a 3076. How good is the stock turbo manifold with these and I would need and external wastegate and boost controller correct. I used to mess around with rb20's about 7 years ago but I didn't do much with the turbo just turned the boost up, ignition, intake and exhaust mods so im still kinda new to serious turbo mods.

I have been using google im just looking for some suggestions and ideas on what I should get now with what I have and what I should buy later. I want to do as much as I can with the motor out so that it wont be a pain in the a** later.

I also think I am going to get the n1 water and oil pump as a good precaution.

2000 is not go in to get u far..U spend close to that on a standalone for the neo as they are rare.. how ever if u willing. U could get a use gt30r n some injectors with the z 32 maf with that bugdet.. Also on the nistune u will have to use a rb20 or 300zx ecu n plug as u will have to rewire the ecu plug on the neo harness because is diffrent.. just something to think about..

so what im getting form that is to get a gt30r, nistune, rb20 ecu and plug for the nistune and z32 maf.

any suggestions for injectors? The nistune website says the type 4 board is good for r34 rb25det motors, isn't that what the neo is? from everything I found on google it says that the neo is the rb25 that came in all r34 gts-t models. Is that incorrect? if it is please let me know.

So stick with the stock manifold? Does the gt30r have an internal wastegate or should I get an external and a boost controller? Are the N1 oil and water pumps worth it on the neo?

The whole goal here is to just set myself up so that I am in a good spot to start more modding for more power because I am not just going to stop with what I am buying now, this I just my starting point.

did you do your neo install yourself? I have done 2 rb25 swaps and read online that the wiring was going to be different for a neo swap but I have not been able to find anything about what exactly is different. I know that yours is in an s14 and not an s13 but I figured you might know the answer. Ill try and send turbotimz a pm on here.

Thanks for the help so far.

i would upgrade head gasket and get head studs if you want 500whp, really no need for an N1 water pump if you dont plan to rev really high...
