RB25 MAF Noob question

Hey guys a couple of days ago my car starting running like crap and it just got worse and worse until one day it just wouldn't start I was trying to figure out what it was thinking it was a fuel related problem but when it wouldn't start I tried it with the mac disconnected and it started right up. It seems like the previous owner did a pigtail/maf swap to the E60 MAF I have a S1 R33 and I was just wondering if it'll be better to go back to the standard N60 MAF or can I just get another E60? I found both on eBay but not sure what I should do any help is appreciated Thanks!
