RB25 knock

I wasnt sure where to post this so ill just try it herebut this past weekend i was getting my car out for just a little drive to go see my friends new rb 240 an i was at a stop light an it turned green turned not ripping into it at all just driving casual an i hear a knockin sound all of sudden an my car trys to stall out everytime i shift now at idle the knock isnt that loud but gets louder as the rpm's get higher an stalls out everytime i shift unless i shift a fast

anyone got any ideas to this an help would be great thanks

Sounds like a little bit of crank walk.. not good. but it could also be a combonation of things, mayb you have some sticky lifters.

yea i was thinking it was a spun bearing but wasnt 100 sure my friend has a extra rb26 block fully built bored over with pistons crank an rods an said he would sell to me but will it work with all the 25 parts or would i have to get a bunch of other things

odds are its a spun bearing.

a 25 head will not work on a 26 bottom so you will need LOTS of stuff.

well i can get a long block from a local engine shop for 1600 so i guess im just going to be doing that
