I've been just reading all the threads and doing a few searches to gather info on my tentative rb25det into s14 chasis.
I've been offered an rb25det motorset complete except for some piping, intercooler, and radiator. (clip was damaged).
I'm wondering what I need to make it work, so far this is what i've gathered.Radiator - I can just use my stock ka24de radiator...with hose changes.
Intercooler - Well I would plan on going fmic , so what kit works? I figure a s14 sr20det blacktop to s14 chasis greddy fmic would work, pipes would be in a somewhat close location. If I got the tophat intake plenum.
The s14 SR seems to be in a similar spot? I figure i'd only need to fab a few extentions bends etc to make it work. Or what kit in particular works.
In addition, the tophat intake plenum, do I need like a q45 throttle body or... what? I think i've seen somewhere that i need to make my own throttle bracket?
Sturt Bars- The tophat motormounts and mckinney both clear strut bar correct?Wiring-If i decide to do the wiring on my own,can anyone update me with a current guide of rb25det to s14? I've seen links but they're all old/broken/don't work.Air conditioning - Can anyone provide me with some info reguarding wiring and which compressor to use? can i save my KA compressor and just attatch it.Clutch - 300zx N/A ....will 300zx TT work ? Z32 or Z31 ?
Labor-Anyhow, a shop is quoting me 1700 for labor / wiring / and mounts,driveshaft , downpipe. If i get them to do it, what do I need to get in writing about stuff thats hooked up. Clip/motorset-I've found a motorset for 2200 without i/c , radiator, and piping.
clip for 2800, i plan to go fmic so should i just go with the motor set?
what things are critical for the swap that could be missing from the motorset that i should be looking for?Prior Motor- My ka blew so, this is what im doing I guess? I have piping for a ka24det and a fmic, but i figure i'd get a new one since im selling the turbo kit, so everything is cut already. The testpipe, and 3" exhaust is already there along with the Walbro pump, wideband 02 and boostcontroller/gauge. Anything else im gonna need?
Last thing is, I did use the search button, but a lotta stuff is not always clear. Im not a total newb i've done plenty of SR swaps....
Typical cost for all motor mount/driveshaft/downpipe is about 1000 correct?
