Im going to order the parts to fab up my intercooler system today. Im interested in what RB25 owners are running with. Im thinking 2.5" or 3" pipe all the way to the core. With a core size of probably somewhere around 24x12x3.

Heres the thing though. I dont want to go with a core or pipes that are overkill because the extra volume in conjunction with the MUCH larger turbocharger will kill the streetability of the car. Would some of you high HP guys please share your reccomendations / experiance with me. The goal for this project is somewhere between 450 and 500 streetable hp. Im trying to keep the core and pipes as small as possible for fast responce without restricting too much power.

Thanks for your input.JimJim

Well, im not around that power area, but you ussually want to finish up the cold side with the throttle body size if you can, and the hotside just a tad smaller or not the same size. Im running 2.5 hot to fmic and fmic to cold and then it goes to 3 inches to just before the throttle body becuase of the pipe my BOV came with.

i run a spearco core'ed ic with 27x6.5x3.5 dimentions, its supposed to be good to about 550bhp.i like it and it was cheap enough off ebay, needed some love but it works damn well...go with 2.5" ic piping and keep the throttle response, 3" might be a touch laggy.

i think its a good idea to try and match the size of your compressor outlet for the hot side, then your TB inlet on the cold side

I ran 2.75 cold and 2.5 to 2.0 hot on the stock turbo with my FMIC. Throttle response was very good for me. I'm going to step it up to 2.75 the whole way now since I have a larger turbo. I have talked to a few people about piping size and most of them say put the biggest you can fit. 2.75 matches up nice to the throttle body so thats what I run.
