Here are pics of my progress so far, engine is mounted with Mckinney motor mounts, so you can see the clearance now with s14.

Beautiful...now comes the hard part. Have you started the wiring yet? And how's the auto>5 speed going?

I have started getting the info on all the pinouts I need on the wiring and can put all the wiring together now I believe with all the info I have, not any problems so far, just had to give the 02 housing elbow a nice grinding wheel massage. I used the RB20 5 spd transmission so using the Mckinney mount kit I could not use the transmission mount since the transmission length is different, still working on that. Waiting on my I/C pipes to arrive, my custom intake plenum to be fabbed and I/C end tanks to be modified.

The motor came from us, we imported it from Japan.

Very nice. Why are you using the RB20 transmission? I assume your motor came without a transmission and couldn't find an RB25 transmission? Also, who are you having the intake plenum done by? Sounds like you'll have a nice setup when she's running. Congrats.

Yeah, the engine came automatic, and we just happened to have a RB20 clip at the shop. Going to put in RB25 transmission in once we get some in. The intake manifold is being designed by the shop (JDM Parts Plus) and fabbed by a friend that works at a machine shop.

Is the intake going to be a one of a kind? or are you guys gonna be selling them?

The flange is going to be blueprinted on CAD so it can be duplicated, once we get the plenum designed to where it works best we will be able to sell them. This first piece will be a prototype.

That sounds good. Let us know how it turns out.

but you know, if you need someone else to test out those prototypes, send it this way ;)

I was looking at the SubZero design from Australia and it appears as if our design will be similar.

with the rb20 transmission and r33 crossmember the driveshaft will be 1.5 inches too short.

so i hope you are using mounts.

I am using Mckinney mounts, the driveshaft is less than .5" short now, so it is feasible.

UPDATE: woohoo! finally got it running a few days ago.

Drove it down the road about a mile or so and the rear end was all over the place. Took it back jacked it up and come to find out it was just the sway bars needed tightening down. Pulls very well, esp using the 4.36 gears I put in.

Sounds great with the Blitz Nur Spec 3" exhaust, very low rumble. Not too loud but low. I am very pleased. Still have a little ways to go, few kinks to work out. But overall very satisfied.

:D
