I know many of you done the RB25/26 swap in an S13 and am wondering what it took. Did it bolt right on? Can you use the stock sway bar? How did it connect to the propeller shaft? Does the hood close? How did you conect AC, Steering pum, Alternator etc.? Do you have enough room? What other mods need to be done? Thanks,

I did the swap, The engine bolted right in using the R33 crossmember, you can use the stock sway bar but you ned to shim it down a little bit, I had a custom one piece shaft made up, The hood closes, but I had to cut some of the skeleton out of the underside, I didnt connect AC, PS I had a high pressure line made, Alternator was attached to the motor, I have plenty of room to completely tear down the motor because the exhaust camshaft broke and took out a bunch of other parts.

It looks nice. The wiring must've been a pain. Is everything in the dashboard working? I couldn't see it in the engine bay but I take it you have an electric fan.

So I guess the major mods are the drive shaft, wiring, and fan conversion.

Also since you have the head out, this site has the gasket set for the RB25 for around $450. http://www.mckinneymotorsports.com/sale.php

There are several ways to install the motor, with our parts most people say they have install the motor in less than 4 hours, not counting the wiring.. We do not have to cut anything....

The four hours is taking out the KA and dropping in the RB. If you have the harness pre-wired you could be driving the car that day.

Ben, glad to see you on the boards again. So hows the car coming. We might be out in your area in September. I would like to come by the shop when I am over there. Need to pick something up.

Talk to you soon and glad to see you back on the boards,

Grumpy

Vrtgrumpy,

I was wondering if I bolt in a rb25det using the r33 front crossmember and mounts, if you know where i can get custom drive shaft and how much would it be?

any local driveshaft shop can do it . just measure and take them the old shaft.

Just like RubHamuSan said.

Measure from the back of the transmission out to your rearend. Use a Z32 input shaft with a 240sx rear.

Thats it.
