so i just recieved a custom line from DJbutton i think his username was to goes from my pump to my rack or so i thought. i drove my car for 2 years with my SR and no power steering. it sucks more with the RB so i decided to get it working. so now that i have the DOHC reservoir and that one line. im wondering what else i need. the things i have circled in red are the things i already have. the pump, the line, and the reservoir. what i have circled in blue is the things i dont have. for the hose circled in purple, can i just go to autozone and get any hose for that? the stuff in blue is what is confusing me. i dotn have any of those on the car. i thought the line i got from DJbutton would just bolt from the pump to rack. but now i see that i was very wrong. because then there would be no where for the hose from the reservoir to the hardline thats "TEE'd" into with the PS line to go. so my question is can any name what i need from this picture and where to get it?

RED = i already haveBlue = Confusing and i dont havePurple = will any hose from autozone work for that?

All you need is the Metal lines off the DOHC 240( Puple circled), and a return hose which is circled in blue. Either go to the parts store and order the Metal High pressure lines (Which will cost you) or find a junk yard.

edit: what i wrote initially was confusing.

you're grouping a lot of the stuff in the picture wrong. the part that you think is a "tee" is actually a bracket where the high pressure ps switch is.

this is what you need to do:1)take that line you bought and use it to connect the pump outlet to the rack feed. this is the only high pressure line. i think djbutton's line has the high pressure sensor built into it. if not, don't worry about it2) buy a rack return line. it should have barbed fittings on it and is smaller than the feed line. it is low pressure. The factory return line runs around the front cross member like a bow tie for cooling, but eventually ends up back at the smaller port on the resoivoir. if you don't want to run any cooling, just get the right size hose and connect the rack return directly to the small port on the resoivoir. you need to use ps rated hose though, so might be best to find an oem one. 3) connect the big hole of the resoivoir to the pump inlet. you also need ps rated hose for this. radiator hose will turn to mush. this is also low pressure.4) optional - put a ps cooler either between the hose you have in step 2 or step 3. that's it.. no need to worry about anything else.

The line from the reservoir to the barbed fitting on the pump is simply a gravity fed line so it can be any kind of hose.

You need the high pressure PS lines and I happen to have the S14 lines for real cheap. I'm not sure if they will fit exactly, but they look similar to those in the image out of the FSM.

it can't be any kind of hose. it can be low pressure hose, but regular coolant hose will turn to mush.

in steps two and three, can i get what i need at autozone?? from the pump to the rack, do i hook up the high pressure line to the top or bottom hole on the rack?

I better keep an eye on my hose then because I used various PCV and heater hose fittings for the PS pump supply line. I'm so ashamed of that part of the build... I want to take the pump completely off and tap the feed hole for an NPT fitting so I can run a straighter line.

Guys what are you all doing for the reservoir feed line with a HICAS pump and a S13 DOHC reservoir?

As you might remember from the other thread (Sil240's IIRC), the stock KA hose WILL NOT WORK. The reason is the RB HICAS pump has a 20mm OD feed fitting, while the KA DOHC res has a 15mm hose fitting. Somehow we either need a hose that transitions from 15mm to 20mm, or better, some kind of inline/splice reducer. I'm not even sure if the parts store will stock 20mm ps hose right now I have some ****ting clear vinyl hose clamped onto a 15mm heater hose. Yes I know it will leak and deteriorate, it was just for initial startup so the pump's not dry...
