Wondering if anyone could help me with a simple, where do some of these wires go on a S14. I had the car running, but somehow when i came back to it a day later it didn't want to turn on. I got another ignitor but I fear the ignitor could be bad, the one i got.

So i decided to redo my wiring. I pulled it completely apart and started from scratch.

On the Rb25 s1 there are 2 relays ECCS and IGN

ON the right the IGN relay,- Black/red (thick gauge) I believe that goes to pin #1 on the F3 plug labeled ( Ignition On or Start (IGNSW) )

-White (thick gauge) its already in the engine harness it goes to the 2 pin plug next to the ignitor chip and supplies power to the coilpacks, I tested continuity between it and the white wire at the other coilpack plug, it gets 12 volts with ignition on

-Orange it leads to the ECCS relay, and also back to the ECU i believe its labeled as ECCS coil ground? !?

-Red (thick gauge) Im not quite sure where this one goes? In an s13/rb25, it says connected it to the other red wire? On the s14, are they refering to pin #17, its labeled power (smaller gauge)????

ECCS relay:-orange leads back to the IGN relay, and to the ecu for coil ground i think?

-white/black #1 kinda confused where these go?-white/black #2 kinda confused where these go?

-black/white

I forgot which one goes to the ECU, but where do i connect them to? A F3 plug im assuming...but which one? I know one of those goes to backup power for the eccu thats always fused hot? which plug does that correspond to on the f3 plug. Always hot as in even with the key out ...corrrect?

I've got pretty much everything else

F3 orange wire for start signal, wired to ecu grey/red i believe. F3 black/pink to ecu #18 black/pink

I get ignition power, fuel pump prime, 12 volts at injectors (grey wire), 12 volts at that "other" plug right next to the coil packs.

First thing you need to do is uderstand how relay works. Resraerch http://www.howstuffworks.com for this.

IGN relay:The orange wire is the ground for the trigger side of the relay. The ECU gives this wire ground when it wants the relays to energize the switched side. Red wire provides power to the switched side of the relay.

ECCS relay:white/black provide power to the switched & trigger side of the relay, again the orange provides ground for the trigger that the ECU controls.black/white is split into 3 feeds for the ECU...basically this is the switched pwoer the ECU needs to operate.

hey jon, I didn't get spark on those ignitor chips... so im redoing my wiring just b/c the chance of two ignitors and your suggestions make me think its pretty hard for two to be bad/

check your ground wire at the loom of the coil pack harness. Should be towards the rear single 18gauge black wire. Man if you really need help call me today on my cell phone i can walk you though this by myself. email me if your interested.

i had to go through the same problem.

IGNOk, Red wire is connected to f3 pin #17,Black/RED is connected to f3 pin #1Orange is grounded by ECU no wirring necc.White is connected to coil pack power no wiring nec

ECCS2 White/Black wires on the eccs relay is connected to f3pin #17 as well.Orange automatically grounded by ecu and no wiring necblack/white provides power to ecu? already wired, but theres one black/white wire thats connected to those 3 ecu pins.

is this correct?

I get 12 volts at all the conections with ign on, except the orange one b/c its grounded by the ecu.... is that correct?

That's how it should be
