So i got in a new cas and ecu today, and i went and plugged it it. Cranked, no go. So i checked for spark, spark is good. Checked for injector pulse with a noid light, good as well. Decided to play around with the timing, still nothing. Pulled my feed line going into the fuel pressure regulator, and check for fuel pressure, filled a beer bottle in about a second, so thats good. Pulled a spark plug and noticed it was dry...should be wet with fuel from all the cranking. Sprayed some carb clean in the intake manifold, and she rumbled for a second. Now my question is, can a fuel pressure regulator go bad and prevent fuel from entering the fuel rail, or do i have 6 bad injectors... Its a series 1 engine, with greddy intake manifold, maybe it matters.... Ive been batteling a no start for over a year now, and im SOOOO close, please help...

yeah it will 'run' with out the MAF.

sounds like either wiring or an ecu issue, check for 12v on the power wire on the injector harness connector, or the number one injector connector. Should be a gray wire. If there is not 12 volts ill give you further instruction.

the injectors are pulsing, i think they are bad from sitting too long, there is a constant 12v to their hot side, they are making my noid light flash.

umm...that might be your problem. I have an RB20, but it was my understanding that the FP regulator is on the OUTLET of the fuel rail (AFTER the injectors). Humor me, and try to switch the 2 fuel lines on your fuel rail...they might just be backwards if you are pumping directly into your FRP, then the rail, then return line....

been there, done that...my 15yr old nephew noticed it before I did..

wow, i missed that when i read it the first time, yeah man your fuel lines are backwards. Feed goes into the other one not the one with the regulator. This is a common mistake, i know ive done it. Hope it starts, let us know.

Heres how I think of it, the regulator's job is to control the fuel pressure in the line so the feed is the line that leads to the back of the rail, the return comes off the reg to the tank.

The feed also has the filter on it before the rail, this keeps any **** from entering the rail, makes sense eh?

should be your issue.

so, did you get it to run, I lost a lot of sleep when I first installed my rb20 on my s13, it wouldn't start, so I found out my computer was wrong, went on ebay and got one...started right up.

sorry about the delayed reply, yeah she started, running a little rough, but no mafs its expected, just trying to track one down now. Luckely i figured that issue out the next day, the cas was bad because i was not getting injector pulse or spark before i replaced it. Also, when my ecu is NOT in diag mode, its flashing a red light, over and over and over, its not giving a code, just keeps flashing, normal??? Oh yeah thanks alot everyone, its been a long time comeing! got s1mafs?????i have s2 wanna trade?

I put a RB25 S2 in my R32. We finished the wiring but only cranks and won't start. The engine is getting spark but no fuel. The fuel pump works fine but still noting. We put fuel in the intake and it start up fine. Im guessing the injectors arent firing. The grey wire gives 12V but when I try to start it it goes down to about 8V or lower. I still have to put a 12V wire on the VCT, AAC ect wire. Could this keep the injectors from firing?
