After issues with my other turbo setup I want to do this right

Picked up a 3076 turbo and will be using a HKS cast manifold. My question is what size wastegate should I use with what spring? Will the HKS manifold need any adapter or will it bolt right up?

-RB25-gt3076 turbo-HKS cast mani-running 19/20 psi boost-car is strictly for drift

Any other information needed? Thanks

50mm wastegate....i think ricky at raw brokerage has a hks used one he might be selling. Hit him up tell him your buddy homer sent you...also if you tell him how much boost you will be trying to utilize he can help you with spring size.

The HKS 50mm knock off's from ebay should bolt right on also-the 4 bolt kind that is.

you cannot use the hks cast manifold unless you are using the r32 or r33 xmember to mount the engine.the compressor cover will foul out on the mount adaptor plates.the hks standard wastegate is the one you want, the race will not bolt on unless you get the special wastegate which is the 50mm gate with the standard flange...hard to find and VERY expensive. Also you'll need to recirc the wg as you'll have some nasty boost control issues if you dont due to the manifold design.

wtf, how did I not get this information searching before? Argh I'm about to pull my f'n hair out!

I do not have the R33 cross member, used the McKinney mount kit. Please explain what you posted....

-The compressor housing of the turbo will hit the engine mounts?-Recirculate vs open air venting? Would I need to weld on a pipe from the wastegate dump to the exhaust or what?-Why 50mm wg, isn't that a bit large? I have mostly been recommended Tial 38mm wg, I'm guessing that will not fit? Why?

proly because not many people own/have run the hks cast manifold, its a great manifold but like i said before is not compatible with mount kits.the compressor cover will hit the adaptor plate that bolts to the xmember and due to the manifold design if the wg dump is not recirced back into the exhaust then you'll have nasty boost spike issues.you cant just bolt on a tial wg as the manifold isnt flanged for it, you may be able to buy an adaptor for it but those are rather expensive too.the standard wg is on par with the tial 38mm so you shouldnt need more than that.

heres a pic of my dump tube and downpipe for reference:

and heres the reason why it wont work with mount kits...you can see how low it sits in the engine bay, it is literally a half an inch or so from the xmember in my car.

I had to chop the motor mount on my GTSt to fit a TO4e bottom mounted on the HKS log manifold. I think they were originally designed to be used on GTR's which have more room up from in that area. Also, I ran a 38mm HKS wastegate with no boost creep/spike issues with both the TO4e and the Holset HX35/40 hybrid. It wasn't recirced, but I was running like 20psi+ though, so maybe if was just running the boost it was spiking/creeping to

hmm, well thanks for the information and saving me time trying to get this thing mounted up.

I suppose I'll have to sell it and modify my stock manifold for a wg flange. Its not what I'd call efficient, but I don't have $1200+ to drop on a tubular collector style at the moment.

It looks like this manifold work perfectly with an RB2x/30 swap since that lifts the head around 2 inches? I know it depends on the turbo size you select, does it interfere with the crossmember or just with the mount kit?
