My car:S14 (95 OB1)Rb25det

Mods: 3 inch exhaust, front mount, greddy boost controller, apexi safc.

Just the basics.

Finding out a few days ago that the VVT was not hooked up. Hooking it back up caused it to loose power however the Air/fuel ratio stayed fine.

Disconnecting the VVT it makes more power and the Air/fuel ratio looks almost perfect.

However, more of the bigger problem is. It literally falls on its a** after 5800 rpms. Like no power. Air/fuel stays good but power just drops significantly.

Timing has been adjusted both ways without success. Fuel has been changed to better brand new fuel.

It is a possibility of a crank sensor messing up, just trying to get ideas.

Thanks

Update: On 8lbs it makes like 240 on a mustang dyno.On 10 lbs it makes 244 on a mustang dyno.

Still can't figure it out

Why do you have two topics on the same exact thing?

I had the exact same problem with mine and it ended up being that the cam sensor was not adjusted correctly. I had it off and reinstalled it in what i thought was the exact same place but it was off enough to cause that problem. How i found out was i borrowed the consult scanner from our infiniti dealership (i am a tech for a volvo/infiniti dealer) and watched the timing advance as i drove. It would get to 40 degrees btdc at 5800 rpm then zero out and that was why it fell on its face. Turns out 40 degrees is max and it was hitting max before redline because of the misadjusted cam sensor and causing the ecu to go all retarded. No garauntee this is your problem, but i would suggest getting a timing light and checked timing on your engine. Go to psiparts.com.au and go to downloads and you can download the factory service manual to see the way to check and adjust your timing.
