Ok right off the beginning, I searched. But i really cant stand nico's new search engine. Its is a cluster HUCK. I even tried using google to no real avail. There was a thread here about all the options available to use with the rb that are plug and play minus a few pinout changes. Can someone please point me in the right direction. I know the early z32's are good. Aswell with the maxima's. My question is the J30 the ecu mapable.

Reason for this is i need a new harness all the way to the ecu aswell as a new CAM sensor and i am dread'n the redonkulous price of it. I did some searching and come up with that the z32 uses the same cam sensor as a j30 and was hoping that the ecu is compatible with nistune and such. If so i am prolly gone use the whole engine harness with the ecu. I know there is some work involved getting a v6 harness to work with a straight 6 but at the point i am in i have to make what i can work with as little money as possible. Also the j30's maf should handle what i intend on making for now. So that will help also.

Personally i want to use the z32 stuff but it seems thats not a option as they never make it to the local pick and pulls. So any help would be appreciated.

R33 S1 or S2?
Yes, as far as stock - Early Z32 ECUs work with a quick re-pin.
After that.. take your pick (PFC, NisTune (Z32), AEM, Haltech, ViPec, etc.)

.. you didn't try to search very well, did you?

I dont think you read my post very well. I said i know the z32 works. But i cant get them so i was wondering about the j30.

j30 uses a 16bit variant of the z32, its more akin to the late model z32 ecu...requires a daughterboard to function properly vs the simple eprom the early z32 8 bit ecus used.

Well crap, even the early 93 models use the 16 bit ecu? I need some options here. There is a boat load of maxima's in the yards around here but the maxima uses i different style drive for the cam sensor. Im guessing the sensor cant be swapped around with diff ecu's?Or can it? I mean when using a z32 ecu you stll use the rb25 cam sensor right? So in theory i could use a mix of a maxima ecu/harness with a j30 cam sensor and be good????

by and large the cas sensors are all identical, just different cam drives and end plug configurations but the check and trigger signals are the same.
from my experience all infini j30 cars use the 16bit ecu...maximas are the same way.
do you need a harness to build up an rb25 compatible harness from?
if so i have a deloomed rb20 harness that would be a good starting base rather than trying to retrofit a z32 harness to the rb engine...pm me if you're interested, i'll let it go pretty effin cheap.
