Alright guys ive searched but havent gotten a direct answer yet. I have a VLSD that i got from my old ABS s14 and my car that is getting the rb25 is non abs.

The question is, when i order my driveshaft, do i need to specify that i have abs or not abs due to using the VLSD.

i would call them (shaftmasters or drive shaft shop) to place your order. When I called shaft masters then just need to know what diff you have abs or non and what chassis the rb is going under.

with all their business they have confirmed that with all the mount kits out there that there really are only two different shaft lengths; abs or non, regardless of the mount your using cause they all pretty much have the same font to back spacing.

So basically if I'm gonna use the diff from an abs car i will need the abs driveshaft. That makes sense. Thanks!!

I think it would matter for abs diffs whether the abs sensor rings are on the snout (like s13), or where the stub axles go (like z32).

I used a z32 diff (with abs) on an s14 that didn't come with abs and did not need a different drive shaft.

I'm not sure really where the rings are on the s14 VLSD. I think they are on where the axles go but not sure. I'll have to look.

So now im confused. If i were to put the VLSD i have laying around that came from my old ABS equipped and i put it in my Non-ABS s14 i have now, what would i need to tell Shaftmasters when i call them or email them and order. Do i need to tell them abs or non abs??

I'm pretty sure the s14 abs ring is on the snout. Upload pictures and we can tell you.

you tell them abs.

the abs sensor is right by where the diff is bolted to the main drive shaft.
