Hi I am a big RB25 fan and I am really looking to stand out when I present it. I am currently looking at what cars can I put the engine into. I saw the other day a 2JZGTE in a BMW 325i. I got to thinking hey I can do that with the RB25. The thing is I need as many available cars that can fit an RB25 into it. There are restrictions to me question. MUST BE:1. Import2. 4 Doors3. Some Luxury to it

I have been researching left and right and its hard to find any real answers when no one has done or is not online about it. I have seen the RB25 in a BMW great but I really like the Audi A4. Thoughts?

Thankyou

How much money do you have? The reason I ask is your profile says you are 19 and a student. When I was 19 and a student, I know I couldn't afford a regular old RB into S-chassis swap let alone something one off and custom.

I have the $ dont worry about that. Me friend has an is300 and he is putting the 2JZGTE into it. I really like the A4. If I can put the engine into the A4 thats what I will do but I am keeping an open mind. Thoughts?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the A4 AWD with a transverse mounted engine? I might be wrong, but I think so. Are you trying to keep the AWD function?

Your right. I did not care to much that its AWD but if its easier, what about swaping with a RB26 then? The whole thing is having an RB 25 or 26 in an A4.

The whole thing is if I get an A4 which I am really leaning towards, will the engine fit and bc of the AWD should I just go get a RB26 instead of the 25.

This is like the guy that wanted to put a 4G63 from an Evo into a 240.... sure with enough money and know how you can do ANYTHING....

realistically the audi is a transverse AWD platform aka motor is sideways like a FWD.

theres physically no space for the RB at all so at least you are going to be cutting up the firewall to fit the motor...

BMW's are good candidates becuase they already have I6 motors...

go get a mustang or camaro and put a RB in it...

or for luxury get a lexus GS300, Infinity Q35, hell this months Project Car mag has a how to swap an RB25 into an infinity m30

That's a simple drop-in that shouldn't take more than a weekend if you aren't mechanically inclined.

As stated, the A4 won't work because realistically, it's designed for FWD (transverse).

Hell, I remember being in college and dreaming of cars.. But I waited until I was out and stable and THEN started tuning. I didn't even buy my first S13 until I was a year out of school.

seriously??? dude your best bet for an import luxery 4 door is going to be and infiniti, don't waste time with the Audi, i doubt there is enough room for a rb under the hood, it'll be a nightmare getting a rwd configuration to work and an even bigger one messing with the awd

I am going to have to mod a lot but it should be fun. Right now I am about to buy a 240sx with a SR20 already in it just so I can drive around for now. Me other car got totaled bc some guy made a left turn into me pushing me into a van. Anyway, when I get me 240 I will post pics.

Next Summer I will attempt to do something unheard of. I am going to put an RB25DET into an Altezza (Lexus IS 300).

This local guy who has build several grass roots type cars, did the 4g63 into a 240 and T2 rx7 which was twin turbo, Jp is an amazing fabricator and did it under a 6k budget after engine and car. The guy built a colt that ran 10.6's @148mph for under 4,000 bucks and went 200mph on the highway. search for "colboosting" his videos are prolly still around on youtube.

I have rode in this colt many of times, no joke it sounds funny but there was nothing in OHIO that could touch this car from a 100-180ish rollhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1iqsZUFqJq0

1900 lbs 704whp under 4000 bucks! you can read his build on back grassroot build magazine.

If you know how to build stuff by ur hands you can do anything logical. Good luck with everyting.

People have done RB into the 350z. Why don't you try putting one in a G35/37?

Don't ruin the IS300. The car is perfect I agree, just boost it. It would be stupid to drop the RB in it, when you could just use that money to boost it.
