I've been saving up money for sometime now to fix my 1990 240SX that got a rod knock 2 years ago. I finally have enough to get started and a loan to back me up. Problem is I can probably only come up with $10k and I am not going to be doing the work myself. So I cannot decide which would be better for my money.

I know the front clip for my RB25 DET will run about 4500. The SR20 will be cheaper and more rampant for parts. I want y'all to consider too that I will be putting in an alarm system and I want to the car to be reliable and safe. I don't want a car that needs to be worked on constantly. Also, with the RB25 I am going to need to install the 300zx brakes.

In everyone's opinion which engine should I go with considering my position? Please add pros and cons as I have to order the engine by a week from today.

search on both and figure out what's good for you.

This thread will now be locked.

Next time, do us all a big favor and like the sticky up at the top of this board says, search. This board's been around for 6 or 7 years already and if you can think of it, it's probably already been discussed.
