heres the problem. my friends got an RB25, no SMIC, running 7psi, and it cuts out when hitting boost. when i say cutting out, i mean it feels like the whole engine loses power, then it comes back, then cuts out again. driveability is fine in the lower RPMS.

heres what the main problem is. I guess i just got into too much depth..sorry guys. its like this.

WOT in every gear it will boost up to 7psi, then its like the whole motor loses power. then comes back, then loses power again. this is without the SMIC.

so maybe a nice FMIC, and some spark plugs w/ proper gap? he was using Champion spark plugs? im gonna have him get NGK V-Powers and gap them properly and get the FMIC and see what happens. he's just waiting to get his head back from the machine shop.

the head is at the machine shop to get decked, not anything more, so it doesn't have anything to do with the problem. let me rephrase everything.

no SMIC, 7psi, WOT, it cuts out like motor lost ALL power, comes back, cuts out again. thats the problem. i just shouldn't have said all the other stuff.

First things first, next time you post make it short, clear and concise. If I posted saying I was having trouble and had a hole in my intercooler you would call me a retard too.

Your right, nobody TOLD me to do anything. You ASKED me by posting a question. Lose the attitude.

So there was a chunk of i/c lodged in a valve seat and your not having that fixed while its in the shop?

Your blowing super hot air into a motor meant for a SMIC. Its pretty simple, get an intercooler back on before you bother doing anything else. Joe is dead on I am sure, its pulling major spark. Gap your plugs tight and don't drive that car until you get an intercooler back on it!

"I'M" not doing anything. yet another reason i would not care for this thread to be locked or deleted or w/e. I am not in full contact with my friend 24/7 about the motor. i thought i'd post the problems he has conveyed to me to see if anyone else had experienced them..idk if hes having it fixed or not..i have NO idea. im just giving you what he told me.

and please do not post something after this saying "why not have him make the thread so we can get the full story" or something.. i told you it was my friends and im just the middle man k?

ok sjb! and everyone else. Relax. Lets just give sound advice on what he gave.

Ok this could be a wide range of issues. To begin:start with checking your fuel pump and fuel pressure. 43psi set with vacuum off and then re apply vacuum. CHECK FOR BOOST LEAKS!Unplug ecu for more than a minute and depress brake pedal. This is to reset the ecu of any bad data.

plug the batt. back in and start her up.

Honestly bro! Make a thread and give details. This is not a place where u can make a simple short edited post. Most of us on here give great advice and have been exactly where you are. We also have been flamed just like you've been. Take your time and help us HELP YOU!
