Hey Everyone,

Sure im gonna get flamed for this, but figured ill shoot anyways.

Im working out a trade deal that will land me a RB25 R32 Skyline.

Ive been investigating ways to get 350+rwhp out of it, and i know one of the things could be a turbo upgrade.

Ive been eyeing the Masterpower turbo's as ive got a ton of fabricating experience, i could buy or fab up a top mount turbo manifold with a T4 or T3 flange, depending on turbo choise

Ive looked at:

T-61 O-trim

Turbine Housing:-A/R: .68-Type: Undivided-Discharge: V-Band-inlet: T4

Compressor housing:-A/R: .70-Air Inlet: 4.00"

How does the sizing of this turbo seem?

Id know it will be a higher rpm powerband, preferably fully wound up by 4k, id like to run it on lower boost.

Ill definately be upgrading the wastegate, BOV etc. then setting up the cooling/oil feed/return.

Im also planning a greddy or equivilent intake, and ill be fabricating my own custom turbo back exhaust system.

All input greatly appreciated.

Sheldon

If you only wanna push 350whp then the 60-1 is a little big for that. It will def push it, But they are better for pushing 450-600WHP. Thats the turbo Im fixing to put on mine.

Also if you do decide to go with this turbo, I would suggest to port the exhaust side of the rb25 head. The intake side has excellent runners, The Exhaust side has poor flow causing the turbo to lag more. It will help you spool it up a little faster.

I would think a turbo that will put out the flow you need to make that 350 mark is no bigger than a gt30. Everyone seems to be pretty happy with the response with those turbo's.

smaller, way smaller.

my t3 60-1 did 500. prob would of stopped at 550, but the response sucked ***.

my t3/t4 old school garret. .48ar exhaust and 57trim did 340 at 1 bar. response was awesome

Master Power are very good turbo, they are built at the same foundry as Garret's, and their parts are interchangeable as the Garrett. I have the T61 as a matter of fact, these are P-Trim from the factory; I don't think yours is a O-trim, unless it was built to a different specs. If you can get the A/R .68 (turbine) & P-Trim version. This Turbo is a perfect match for the RB25, and it will support 500+HP.

a gimps at how they build their turbos:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfQks3Yu6Gk

Wow i am very impressed. I always thought Master Power was just another knockoff. I was wrong for sure.

If you want less power and more response, go with a Full Race T3 twin scroll manifold, GT3076 twin scroll .78 A/R. If you plan on making more power(500+whp) get the twin scroll T4 manifold and GT35R with twin scroll T4 turbine housing.

You could buy 3 6boost manifolds for the price of one Full Race manifold.
