RB25 Coolant Temp Sensor Wires.

I need to know which one of these wires is the positive and negative, i searched but couldnt find any info.

i dont know off the top of my head

so, unplug it, get a multimeter. start the car, check them. one of them is going to have voltage.

thats your positive.

bwhahah, right theres the problem, i dont have power to the car yet. i could easily do that yes i know, but just seeing which is which before i get power to the car.

That's not a coolant sensor. That's the vtc solenoid. Make sure you have power going to the L/W wire.

yup, variable timing sensor, good eye eh! i didnt even notice it at first. the coolant temp is just underneath it, should be connected to the actual intake manifold, the timing one goes into the head. there are 2 wires on mine, a purple w grey rings and the black with blue stripe. the blue was the ground for me. if you are looking at the back of the plug, tab on top, the blue wire is on the right. let me know if you need a pic, i'll see if my wife can take one (of the wire, not her...pervs ) cuz i cant work photoshop at all

sorry bout that guys thanks for clearing that up! i always thought it was the coolant temp sensor, cause it looks so similar the the KA coolant temp sensor ..

heres my wire, mines blue with gray stripe and purple with gray stripe.



so the blue is the ground and purple is power, is that correct?
