So, I've finally decided to bite the bullet and switch back to the OEM clutch fan from my FAL 210's. (I hear you chuckling back there, Carl H!) The amperage draw with these fans is just insane and I'm still worried about my car's ability to withstand the South Florida 95+ degree heat and run my A/C at the same time. Right now I'm seeing 82 C on the highway without the A/C and 95 C in stop and go with the A/C on....unacceptable. This is with extensive ducting, water wetter, a big a** Koyo rad, 70/30 water coolant mix, etc.

Has anyone found a suitable USDM analog for the ECR33 clutch fan? I stupidly tossed mine when I did the swap 5 years ago and they seem to be few and far between in the classifieds. Maybe something from a RWD Nissan from the same era...Pathfinder perhaps?

Any thoughts?

What involved in doing this in an S14? i have a CX racing radiator, and mckinney mounts, and it looks to be no way to install a clutch fan in mine without a thinner radiator

Im having the same problem OP is...

S14 works fine on mine, just needs a few spacers.
One of the best "mods" I ever did.

Jason,

Let me know if you didn't get my PM back. It says it is in my Outbox, but it isn't showing up as sent. I don't know WTF is up with that?? If that doesn't work, try e-mailing me instead.

Yep, It makes a lot of sense to run the clutch fan. No need for a Quest alternator, no fan controller, no expensive electric fans. At idle my s14 fan pulls more air than the fal 220 did going full blast.. and it works just fine without the shroud.
