Hi to everyone...I'm new to the forum and as I see you have many technical informations about the RB motors and not only!!! I'm from Greece and my car is a 200sx. When I bought it I take the RB25 engine too...for the swap I bought the syko performance mount kit and some other things!!!I want to ask what else I must take for engine (I have a cometic head gasket 1.5mm,ARP head and rod bolts, and I want to change the oil and water pump to N1) to take without problems almost 500hp!! Thank you and forgive me for my english!!

Welcome to NICO.

It's pretty easy to make 500hp with a RB25, but as you may have leaned towards, it comes down to a reliability issue.

its all in how much you want to put into your engine's life insurance policy (supporting mods).

Over build your fuel and oil setups, get a killer EMS or tune. All while keeping your engine cool from heat and your golden.

IF taking it into the engine, get some pistons and crank collar. Slight research and you'll find what everyone is complaining about.

Good luck

If you're not going to replace the pistons, install ARP head studs and that's it for the engine. You're going to break the pistons before you break anything else. Doesn't make sense to install all that and hope the pistons hold up.Leave the oil pumps and such alone. Get a good ECU that can retard and add fuel for knock and EGT's.

The oem pistons are not suitable for such horsepower? And which ecu believe that is the best for the car??

the ringlands are usually the first to go. And we are talking in a relibility stand point.

There has been numerous of examples of 500hp setups with totally stock internel engines.

So drive it, boost it, break something, rebuild everything :P

The car in everyday use will not work in full boost!! The 500hp I want it for some times "at night" is so sure that something will be break??

With a good tune and fuel you should be okay. Stay off boost in hot and humid weather also keep your rpm below 7500. Have your car tuned on the street/track if possible. I have not had any problems with a 62-1 t3, 19psi, aem ems on a totally stock block RB25. I have overboosted to 24psi @ 5100rpm and the head didn't lift.

I actually just posted about this right above this post. I am going to build with forged pistons, and an apexi power FC.
