Maybe because I personally don't know how alike they are..the Z32 and RB25 mission are very similar...not sure how different the bell housing really is on the RB26. I'm not willing to ship out an RB26 trans I don't need to Hawaii and I know for sure that the RB25 bell housing will work.Stealth-Z wrote:Why not use the RB26 trans bell housing? The AWD trans is easier to source than the 25's. Here is one on ebay now.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItem
Maybe you should do some research then.... you want the early R32 26 bell (push type clutch), due to all others being a pull type (very expensive and poor selection).WidebodyZ wrote:Maybe because I personally don't know how alike they are..the Z32 and RB25 mission are very similar...not sure how different the bell housing really is on the RB26. The only way to do that research would be to get each bell housing..I need to make sure it bolts up the same to Z32 mission and the length is identical..trust me I searched. My swap isn't a run of the mill thing. I know what works for sure, other than that, if you know people that have done the RB26Z32 with the 26 bell housing, then please, show me the way. I know the difference between the push/pull types. I just sold 2 RB26 multiplate clutches (had them sitting around from our old BNR34). I just WILL NOT ship out a bell housing that might be useless. I need hard facts, hawaii shipping isn't cheap.74260zt wrote:Maybe you should do some research then.... you want the early R32 26 bell (push type clutch), due to all others being a pull type (very expensive and poor selection).

I have an NA Z32 manual trans. and yes it will bolt up, I know someone who has done this already.240z4u wrote:Do you have a z32 turbo or n/a trans?
The rb26 bellhousing WILL bolt up to a z31 turbo trans or a z32 n/a transmission. I know this for a fact on the z31 turbo, and the z32 n/a is supposed to be the same.
I likely will not check this thread again, AIM me if you have q.s
Evan
What you just posted has nothing to do with what we are talking about. I am not using an R33/34 GTR mission. Those parts are to enable you to use a push type clutch as with the R32 GTR mission but on an R33 or R34. I just recently sold a quad plate OS clutch which had those parts along with it for use on either style mission. The problem is not how the clutch engages, it's how it bolts up and what the length of it is. Buying extra moving parts is not something I want to do. Thanks for trying to help, but that will only really help people with R33/34 GTR's who want to use a push type clutch.Stealth-Z wrote:Here is a solution to the R33/34 GTR AWD Pull type clutch bell housing.https://www.rhdjapan.com/shop/...p=697
Not too bad. I don't need a quadrupple plated clutch at 600whp..it's retarded. And like I said I only go off of what I know, not what I read about that is not chassis specific, and I know that my shifter will sit perfectly with the RB25 bellhousing. I don't see in there where they say they used it ON a Z32 chassis..so my question would still remain. This isn't a discussion on what part I should use, it's a question of where to get my RB25 bell housing. Thanks anyhow...Stealth-Z wrote:You use the bell housing off the RB26 AWD trans. http://x11.putfile.com/2/5018125833.jpg
http://forums.hybridz.org/show...300zx read response #3The housings are interchangable between the R33 and the Z32 trans. The Z32 shifter sits back on a pedastal.
To bad you sold the clutch setup. It most likely would have worked with the what you are trying to accomplish.
The shifter will sit exactly the same as it ever did? Where are you figuring that out from? That doesn't make sense? I have a Z32, with a Z32 trans...are you thinking of another car or something? Haha. $850? Man..you're getting ripped off.s14 2510’s wrote:If you use the z32 trans the shifter will be farther back. Look at a pic of the tails of an z32 and a rb25. the z32 has a farther back shifter location. In my mind just spend the 850 and get one shipped to your home from j-hot. Thats what I did no F-ing around.
Like I said, what car are you talking about putting this on? Are you talking about a Z32 300ZX? If you are..then why would my Z32 transmission sit anywhere other than where Nissan placed it in the first place? The only change comes in front of the transmission. The RB25 bellhousing, then the RB26 motor. This is factual information..from a car which already has the exact thing done to it. Also mind you I have a 2+2 if that makes any difference to your thinking..who knows. This isn't a question of which transmission to use. I AM USING MY Z32 MISSION WITH AN RB25 BELLHOUSING. That being said..only answer my question..which is, I want an RB25 bellhousing. Does anyone have one or knows where I can get one decently priced. Thank you.s14 2510’s wrote:Look at the tail of the rb25 trans compared to the 300zx twin turbo trans. the z32 uses a rear shift. There is no shifter coming out of the top plate like the rb25 trans. On a side note 850 shipped is a good price for a rb25 trans with 12k miles on it. I did not want to pay less for some pos that grinds into gears. Go call around and find what you you can buy a rb25 trans for I bet there all around 850 shipped or more.
No. You are not going to find information about that on any forum. Pick up the phone and call around.WidebodyZ wrote: Does anyone have one or knows where I can get one decently priced. Thank you.
Too late, I already found it on a forum...but thanks for playing. And btw..I did call around.eh? wrote:No. You are not going to find information about that on any forum. Pick up the phone and call around.
