Hey guys I got something to puzzle you with.

For the past week or so my car has bee haing stalling issues when driving. It only happens when driving. What the car does is iIll be driving along normally, and all sudden the car wud cut out for a short second, and then come back on. The car didnt completely shut off because it was in gear, but the best way I can describe it is like letting off the throttle, and then getting back on it, without actually doing so.

Well with that said, I was heading home from a friends house last night when I came up to a light and noticed the car was idling at 10.5 AFRs. When I went to take off from the light the car reved a little bit, then totally shut off. I coasted to a parking lot and restarted the car. Idled fine at 14.7 AFR and I drove for another 20 minutes home.

Then, while on the highway, I went to pass someone, gave it a little bit of gas, and it cuts out again. Car doesnt turn off, but it doesnt respond to throttle input. (I was doing about 70, above 2500rpm).

So I pull over, try restarting the car, and it just starts and dies. Try this several times. Nothing.

So I get outta the car, unplug the MAF, strt the car, idles fine, but at 10.5 AFR's and wont rev past 2500rpm.

So with the car running, I get back outta the car, plug the MAF in, and the car dies. Un plug it again, restart the car, and limp it home.

So then I go over to a friends, and clean the MAF out with electrical parts cleaner. The MAF definately looked cleaner after I did this.
So I go home after the MAF has dryed for about 3 hrs, plug it into the car, car fires right up, but wont rev past 2500.

I still got to check in my SAFC if its sending a voltage at all, and if its showing an airflow percent.

But does this sound like a bad MAF to you guys?

Verify continuity of your wiring.

How exactly would I do that? Everything is soldered and shrink wrapped.

I just went back out to the car. The car fires up with the MAF plugged in, it shows airflow on the SAFC and in the voltage section its showing 1.39 ish volts at idle.

get a multimeter and check that there is a connection from the pin on the inside of the maf plug and on the ECU side, there is a wiring diagram you can get all the info you need over at RBforums.org

Set it to DIODE tone Test, its not the best way but it will give you a rough idea

So I took the maf apart yesterday and two of the 4 connections on the plugs, the soder was busted, so I redid all the connections. and cleaned it.

Then when I went to plug it in, same problem. So I was checking my SAFC wiring and such when the car was running, and come to find out the subharness connector was loose. Im so f*** sick of this SAFC and cant wait to be able t buy my power fc

... damn I'm good. ;)

Toss the AFC and get a Nistune Type2 board and tune to your hearts content.

Isnt there rewiring of the ECU plug needed for that?
