You probably don't have to but you would most likely take the most advantage of the increased cc's by doing so...

You are in uncharted US territory my friend... I would only trust Signal, HKS or Apexi USA to open my RB. If push came to shove I might trust a hotrod shop if they have a good rep... they are use to dealing with wierd stuff. If you can afford to mess up... do it yourself!

k the rb 2.4 againno real power figure but they have made 700 hp with t-88 turbo's etc they make the car more torquey with better response down low I have heard there are issues with them and that the 2.2 conversion is a bit better ( increasing bore size to 82 mm.your car would run with the stock ecu but not at its bestmeggala

with a T88 you dont have to program the ECU???? also with the RB22DET will the redline still be moved to 8500 RPM?

The RB24DET conversion is more for people who already havea a RB20DET in their current car which is mainly a skyline.. and do not want to go through the trouble of swapping an engine or have higher insurance.

For 2.4 you'd have to source a RB26DETT crank and also the larger pistons along with using RB26 connecting rods for the added strength or aftermarket ones.

For 2.2 you just have to use the bigger pistons 82mm and you don't have to mess around with fitting the crank and rods. You can use Tomei forged ones or custom made. Also you can use forged 4AGZE which are also 82mm.

If you want to move the redline up, you're going to do the obviouse of head/valve train work aka stiffer springs also use some RB26 bearings.

RB24DET without much tunning will do 300 RWHP and of course you have to upgrade the fueling. With a T04E turbo, GTR intercooler, you can do 500+HP.

The RB26 crank is not a direct fit, it needs a little modification to the block which is estimated at 3-4mm at the bore bottoms to clear the crankshaft. I would recommend buying an aftermarket engine managment like the SDS is pretty good & cheap.

If you haven't bought the engine yet, I would purchase a RB25DET and then throw in the RB26 crank, rods, pistons. The RB25 has a way better flowing head and the piston walls will not be so thin because of the overbore like the RB24 conversion.

has it been confirmed yet that these parts will directly swap into a rb25?

Will the RB26 crank fit perfectly?

RB26 internals are a direct fit for RB25.

YES, you can use any after market stroker kits such as JUN, Trust, HKS, Etc 2.7L 2.8L but the reason you are getting a deal on the RB26 internals is mainly because someone is buying a stroker kit. Wish I could... but im not RICH!

What can $8-10,000.00 get you??? Look below

do the stroker kits (trust, hks) include pistons and bearings etc, or just crank and con rods?

It depends on the company. I know the companies below have RB26 stroker cranks/kits. You'll have to visit their site to see what they come with. Most ones sell the crank seperate or a kit with rods, pistons, rings

Tomei $$HKS $$$Greddy $$$OS Giken $$$$$APEXI $$$JUN $$$$

Maybe one day a large group of RB25DET owners can come together for a group buy 2.8L kit. :xfingers

thanks for thre pricing system, thats about how i figured it would be, right on the nose, :), anyway, stroker kits are veryexpensive, but so worth the money, 'theres no replacement for replacement'

Yep, there is 2.8L and the pricing system was based on a bad digital A/F gauge. <------<< kinda like that joke..

do you think that if you use a RB26 crank in a RB25 it will be the equivolent of a RB26 without the extra turbo?

No, it is not the equivolent of a RB26. The RB26 has different head design features.

Displacement wise:

Stock RB26DETT = 2568cc 86 x 71.7 Bore/Stroke

RB25DET W/RB26 Crank = 2627cc 87 x 73.7 Bore/Stroke

87mm is because of the rebore w/larger pistons

**Changing out the RB cranks will not make your bore bigger.

That is true, but changing to 87mm pistons will.

you need to use rb 26 rods as well you can convert the rb25 head to solid lifter with good rod bolts 9k rpm is very achieveable.back to the 2.4 someone here got a skyline with one they go ok this has a td06 20 g but the motor was stressed personally I would go the 2.2 not the 2.4 as the 2.4 doesnt rev as hard

If you want to keep some revs, use the RB25DET crank instead of RB26.
