Hey guys. Some might remember me from the "insane supercharger idea for the rb25de engine" thread.

That project has to be set on hold for multiple reasons 1 being school.

As of now, i have a RB20E single cam engine. I know everyone says things like its garbage, forget it, throw it away, go turbo. Im not interested in that. Nissan did produce this engine and i would REALLY like to prove the potential of the engine against the other rb's out there!

Now so far, I was thinking of some simple upgrades.
1- extractor manifold exhaust.
2- AEM dumb coil for the voltage upper
3- maybe shave the head a little to increase compression to about 10:1 or 10.5:1 from the original 9.5:1.

I need some intake ideas. Anything else that might suck a few ponies from the engine? all ideas will be much appriciated! Thanks in advance!

Waste of time and money. That engine has potential, only if you have lots of money to throw at it. Get a SR20DE from a S14 and use that. You will prob make more hp out of the box and be more reliable.

NICE! I like how ur thinking! Here's what, tell me what potential the engine has and ignore the cost factor then. What can be done to get maximum power out of the engine without boost.

Just give me ideas of possibilites. This way i can pick out what is possible and affordable on my budget. My budget might go high if funds run right. As for the SR20, not interested in a 4 cylinder.

Lets just say that im doing this because i want to and not because i want plenty power.

I WANT TO SUCK MAXIMUM POWER FROM THE SINGLE CAM RB20E ENGINE.

Thats my point. IDEAS?

If you have a limited budget then I think you should go with my idea of the S14 SR20DE. One starts with 128hp and another with 160hp. Yester tech vs kinda yester tech. Your going to have to Bore the s*** out of that RB20E, get valve springs and a custom cam made and maybe you will get close to the factory out put of the S14 SR20DE. Maybe a little past it.

Just in case you think I'm been d!ck about my comment. That is my friends car, RB25DE with ITB's header exhaust and no cat and stand alone. It belted out 160ish whp on the dyno.
