RB20DET year?

first off i tried search.....

how can you tell the year of your RB20DET?i know its from an R32 as it has the green MAF, and its pretty new since it doesn't say RB20 on the front of the motor....is there any place that will tell me the for sure answer?

if you dont have the car identification plate i belive there is no way to tell for sure.

ok then, anyone know what year they quit putting "rb20" on the front cover?

If I am not correct they are aftermarket covers Here is a easy question for you what rb20 do you have silver top, red top, is it from a skyline laurel cenferio what.

silver top, (i assume its from an R32 since my MAF has a green tag )

from what i know the 's1' rb20s were made from 89-90 and the 's2' engines were made from 91-93.all the s2 engines ive seen have come from 93 year cars.

i assume S1 and S2 mean "series 1 and series 2"..
