Hey Guys was searching the threads last night and I can't find anything pertaining to the problem with this car. I'm in the process of buying a already swapped 240sx with a rb20 in it the swap was done by low life customs. The problem is when you give it more than like 1/4 throttle it dies out and goes back to idle. If you keep it don't at like 1/8 throttle it will revup and even build boost. This is going to be my sec. rb car so its not like I dunno what i'm looking at I check the maf wiring and it looks ok and I put another maf on to try it out. I also check the tps and from the looks of it it seemed on wiring wise but I didn't have a sensor to swap out. Also my other rb has a ecu with the # 22 on it this one has a 15 which I thought was kinda weird. Let me know if anyones run into a similar problem maybe you can help me out if not gunna have to wait till I get it to the shop and do some further diagnosis.

does it die at 3000 rpms? If so.. it's the MAF.. even though you've checked it already.

Otherwise.. check for boost leaks!

Well I know my spare maf is good so I'm going to say his maf wiring is messed up.And yes its like 3 k it dies and goes to idle. I dunno exact rev cuz the tach for some dumb reason is not wired in. Thanks for the info

i think the problem is timing.... mine does the same thing and idle way high, I believe on mine its a timming issue where it's too far advance and casuing lean conditons and its rasing the idle up.

Well considering this feels like a straight fuel cut I'm going to have to rule this one out

Is your maf wire shielded?

what kida voltge is the tps seeing closed throttle.

get an analog sweeper needle voltmeter and hook it up to the tps. slowly oend and close the throttle. watch the needle and make sure its sweeps w/o faultering, or dropping. If it blips, you have a bad spot in the TPS. Then just go get a q45 tps.

I'll be getting the car next week I'm going to hook the consult up to it and see what my tps reading is and what my MAF reading is. I'll let you know but from the way it acts I think its the MAF
