i just bought a 1989 240sx with an rb20 in it. knowing nothing about the car i somehow managed to blow the turbo in 3 days i need to get a new one so i figured i might as well just get the best turbo i can without blowing up something else.it isn't stock. it has forged pistons, 440cc injectors, stage 2 centerforce clutch, piggy back ECU and many other things done to it. what would be an easy fix that wont caost too much? Thanks for the help

it isn't the cheapest option, but a HKS GT-RS looks to be an awesome upgrade. good to 400hp and still has good response / quick spool up. its about 2K though but you have the supporting mods for it. if you're looking for something way cheaper with minimal performance increase, a good ol rb25 turbo would work.

i've also heard of people putting a VG30 turbo in an rb20 and getting pretty good results. what do you think?

new garret turbos run in the 1100 to 1400 range. you can get a good gt28xx turbo for around $1200 i believe and those are similar to the GT-RS, or you could go balls out and get a gt30r (also the 1200 range)and shoot for 500hp all of the GT turbos should be ball bearing, or you can get a bushing center section for cheaper but I wouldn't.

With the RB25 turbo can you still use the stock manifold? And I already have custom piping for the stock turbo would I have to modify that piping for the RB25 turbo? And lastly with the RB25 turbo will I still be good with the stock injectors or will I need to upgrade those as well? I am kind of a newb when it comes to this stuff so any help would be much appreciated

garrett is the best option.

1 question though.... why put forged pistons in and not do rods, bearings etc...?

The VG30ET (not the twin turbo) turbo is an excellent upgrade.
