I am looking to upgrade the turbo for my RB20DET and I have a Godspeed GT35 turbo laying around. The specs on the turbo are as follows:
.68AR Exhaust housing
T3 60 trim Compressor Housing A/R 70

I am trying to figure out if anyone has tried a turbo of similar size before I make the modifications to the motor to bolt this turbo on. I am looking to get about 300-325 whp
1. What RPM should I expect to see boost start? (shooting for 3-3.2K)
2. What RPM should I see full boost? (Looking for 3.3-3.5k)
3. What is a safe boost limit for the stock head gasket? (17psi? :D)

Anyone that has experience with this turbo please feel free to chime in.

1st becareful with those Chinese Turbos

Gt35 is kinda big. Better for shooting for 500+ HP
I'd guess spool @ 4500

I hit 300 @ 15psi with a t3/t4e 60 trim
I would guess you'd hit your goal at the same psi

Wouldn't go more than 400 as a ceiling with a stock bottom end

Please, save your money and buy a decent turbo. I believe the stock rb20 bottom end can handle 400hp, but you really need to stay conservative with the tune. Go with 650ccs, solid tune etc before you go driving it. Check out my build if you don't believe me.

17psi is probably ok. With my holset, I didn't hit full boost until about 4-4500 rpm. Honestly, its quite a bit laggy for daily driving. 300-350hps with a smaller turbo is more realistic.

You sure won't get the spool numbers you're looking for with a GT35. You'd prolly have full boost by 4500-5000 with a turbo that size.

That god speed turbo is no GT35, The spool time is prob going to be lazy since it's a 2.0. I think its fair to say if u want a quick spooling RB20 you won't be hitting 400hp with the turbo that gives you the quick spool. I could be wrong tho turbo's have changed a lot, the newer billet wheel turbo's could get the trick done. I have no experience with those so I can't say.
