Anyone out there know of or had experience with any tuners in Austin, TX? I know one guy, Justin, who works for Tuning Concepts and is great at tuning but charges an a** load of money. He said he could tune my car for $800 which seems quite a chunk of change. Seeing as all I'm trying to do is adjust my a/f so I'm not running mega rich at idle and lean at higher rpms what do you think I should expect to pay. I am NOT trying to squeeze every last ounce of horsepower out of my engine, merely make it run properly and with any luck get it to idle at 800rpms instead of 1500 where it loves to sit right now. Let me know if you have any insight into what I can expect to pay for such a tune? Also my power goals long term at 300rwhp for daily driving, is the Apexi' Power AFC ecu going to be the best buy to manage this power level later on? I've heard good things about it and it's affordable, for now I hope.

800$ is really steep.I would just save a little more and buy a good stand alone like an AEM, apexi, or haltech P2000 (my goal and personal fav.) and do a street tune. That way you don't have to keep dishing out cash for a tuner and save money in the long run when you start upgrading. If you want to stay cheap and only want to do stuff like A/F you can just get a used piggy back greddy emanage.

That's rather excessive for a good tune. Look into the Nistune boards. Glenn (US Distributor / installer) is in Texas as well.

I would not pay for more than 2 hrs of dyno-time.

No wideband. Carl, how long would it take for me to get my ecu sent, tuned, and back to me/price?

I know your in Texas and glen/carl might do the same thing but i am just throwing you another option. If your willing to send out your ecm, then check out RomIsBurning.com. His name is steve and all you need to do is send him your ecm with some spec's (injector's your running, the maf your running, and the turbo thats on the car) he will put on a daughterboard and chip it for 150$ then send it back the day he receives it. His tunes are on point (injector response, A/F rations, etc etc just call him and talk to him. his information is on his website he'll go into futher of what will be done. what ever i missed to inform you, he will clarify

Yeah boost logic. That's where I had mine done, and it was $800. Of course I had new injectors, z32 maf, bigger turbo, nistune, etc.
