When checking the TPS voltage and the IACV with a multimeter where do you put the leads?
Trying everything i can to get my rb20det to idle right.

There are six prongs on two connectors for the tps. The unit that is directly on the tps is the idle switch unit. Looking at the switch unit as it's on the throttle body, the prong at the lowest position is the idle signal, the middle is the power signal and the top is the "anything but idle" signal.
On the harness connector, wire harness coming from the tps, is for the tps unit. Looking at the connector with the clip on top, the left prong is the power signal, the middle is the output signal, and the right prong is the ground.

On the acc unit, there are two prongs. By looking at the harness connector with the clip on top, I think the prong on the left is the signal out put and the one on the right is the power supply. Hope that helps.

so do i check the idle switch unit or do i check the connector? And do I check the valve its self or the connector?

Do yourself a favor and buy an ECUtalk consult connector and software!!!!
Then set the TPS to about .48 volts to make sure your Throttle switch is CLOSED.

That is a lot of money that I don't have right now. I know all the numbers and settings just need to know where to hook my multimeter up too...

I believe when you check the sensors you're checking for continuity, making sure their are no breaks in the circuit. When you check the harness part, you also check for continuity on the harness and if you're ecu is is providing the proper voltage for the sensor to function. You can check with the car off. In the fsm there is some detail about proper output voltage when the car is off, cranking, and on so I would check there for specifics. When you have the car on, you just have to be careful not to apply voltage to a sensor that's already receiving power from the ecu.
