So I have searched and found nothing on this at all. So a stock Rb20det w/ manual transmission is set to 15 degrees timing, and an auto rb20det is set to 20 degrees. My question is, can I SAFLEY advance the timing on my rb20det to 20 degrees? The reason I want to do this is because it does give you a little more bottom end power. I would think since a auto runs 20 degrees that it wouldn't hurt the engine to run 20 degrees, but I may be wrong. I had the car on the dyno and was tempted to advance the timing anyway but didn't want to blow my engine since I am not sure.I have the following mods if it makes a difference:

rb20det
FMIC
3in exhaust
Aftermarket FPR
Dyno tuned with SAFC @ 14psi with good a/f ratio of 12.0

Not too sure, My ecu was auto but my car was a 5spd. I had my timing set to 20deg, You could try it just listen out for any detonation.
