VG30ET, no VG30DET is the Z31 engine, btw.

The RB20 T3 is pretty small and ball-bearing so with a KA you'll get stupid quick boost and no lag but you'll be very limited as far as power and to--end are concerned. The Z31 is much better suited for the KA's size, and will allow better breating up high.

Edit: Well some RB20 turbos are BB, some are not. The RB25 snail has the same exhaust housing but a slightly bigger compressor so a little better power but nothing substantial.

I also believe the RB20/RB25 have ceramic turbines which arent the most reliable under higher boost. Z31 turbo uses a steel wheel.

All the RB20 turbo's I ever took apart or saw after they exploded were ball bearing. In fact, I may build my own ball bearing turbo out of spare parts I have lying around.

I had my Skyline pushing about 280WHP or so, but that was really pushiong the turbo hard, after a few drags the EX housing was glowing red and wouldn't spool well at all do to heat soak.

But for 7-8 lbs of boost, I'd think it would be a good choice simply for right now boost. Anything over that and the boost will drop off at 5000rpm or so I'm betting.

Depends on which one is cheaper. I'd say RB20 cause I have spare and I have friends over on Okinawa who can ship me one for cheap.
